Sarma's Oral History Bank

Sarma not only collects textual material, but has also started an audio archive. In this archive, Sarma will collect recordings of talks, conferences and colloquia whose topics relate to Sarma's activities. Some of these events are organised or developed in collaboration with Sarma, others are organised by third parties and archived by Sarma.

The audio archive is a collaboration between Sarma and Brussels art center nadine, who host the archive material.

The audio files are in quicktime streaming format, and available in high, medium and low quality to suit the users' internet connection. To install the free Quicktime software, click here. At every page, a contextual note about the recording process will be available. Whenever possible, Sarma will preobide links to textuam material from or related to the events.

Springdance talks (9-24 April 2005)

From April 14 to 24, a new edition of the Springdance Festival takes place. On several occasions, public talks with artists and critics will be organised, a.o. with Boris Charmatz, Jan Ritsema, Jeroen Peeters, André Lepecki, Bruno Beltrão, Hooman Sharifi and others. They will be posted on Sarma.

Lectures/demonstrations (November 9, 2005)

Sarma organised an afternoon around the work of the artistic twin deufert+plischke in deSingel Antwerp. Not a classic colloquium, but a view into themes, working methods and collaboration through performance and video, written and spoken word, watching and reading, posters and slides, listening and speaking, interaction and dialogue.There are two parts: a video performance Directory 1 and an interview installation. You can listen to the audio streaming of the latter.

Lectures Unfolding the critical @ Dance Congress Germany (April 2006)

Sarma curates a small colloquium during the Dance Congress Germany around the issue of art criticism and the critical. In the aftermath of the festival, Sarma is going to document the lectures by audio streaming.

Sarma's audio-archief

Sarma verzamelt niet enkel teksten, maar is ook gestart met een audio-archief. Hierin verzamelt Sarma audio-opnames van gesprekken, conferenties en colloquia waarin thema's behandeld worden die relevant zijn voor Sarma. Sommige van deze events zijn georganiseerd door of ontwikkeld in samenwerking met Sarma, anderen zijn georganiseerd door derden en enkel gearchiveerd door Sarma.

Het audio-archief is een samenwerking tussen Sarma en het Brusselse kunstencentrum nadine, die het audio-archief hosten.

De archiefbestanden zijn in Quicktime streaming formaat, en beschikbaar in hoge, medium of lage kwaliteit, te kiezen afhankelijk van de internetverbinding van de gebruiker. Klik hier om de nodige gratis software te installeren. Op elke pagina staat een contextuele noot met details over het opnameproces. Waar mogelijk zal Sarma ook links toevoegen naar teksten van of rond het evenement.

Niet een klassiek colloquium maar een inkijk in de themata, de werkmethodes en de samenwerkingsverbanden aan de hand van performance en video, geschreven en gesproken woord, kijken en lezen, posters en dia’s, luisteren en spreken, interactie en dialoog.
